Multimodal Computer Vision & Bounding-Box Inference

Manual food logging suffers from catastrophic user drop-off. Typical tracking apps require users to search an ambiguous text database 5 to 8 times per meal and guess portion sizes. Calibite turns the camera into an active sensory instrument.

Sub-1.2s Multimodal Pipeline

Upon shutter capture, the mobile client compresses the raw image buffer to a 1024x1024 JPEG stream before base64 encoding. The payload is dispatched to a serverless edge endpoint running OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision model with structured JSON Schema outputs.

The inference engine decomposes the plate into normalized 2D bounding-box coordinates [ymin, xmin, ymax, xmax], assigning distinct labels and volumetric confidence coefficients to each meal component.

Deterministic Barcode Fallback

Computer vision cannot distinguish zero-sugar liquids or packaged snack formulations with 100% certainty. Calibite integrates a native UPC-A and EAN-13 hardware barcode scanner that activates instantaneously when visual confidence drops below 85%.

This dual-mode heuristic guarantees zero tracking friction whether a user is dining at a restaurant or grabbing packaged groceries.

Fridge-to-Fork AI Meal Planner & Macro Pacing

Most nutrition apps function as passive historical diaries. Calibite acts as a forward-looking proactive nutrition copilot.

Pacing Telemetry

Instead of rigid end-of-day warnings, Calibite calculates remaining caloric and macronutrient deficits in real time. It dynamically weights remaining protein, complex carbohydrates, and essential fats against the user's metabolic burn rate and training schedule.

Fridge-to-Fork Generation

Users can photograph their refrigerator or pantry shelves. Calibite identifies available ingredients and generates tailored recipe options engineered mathematically to hit the user's exact remaining macros for the evening.
